AuctionHealth monitors selected image hosting servers for response time. Our system checks the servers every 15 minutes and records the amount of time it takes for the host to respond. Most servers will respond within 40-50 microseconds but our system reports anything under 999 microseconds (1 sec) as normal. If the monitored host requires more than 2 seconds to respond, lag (yellow) is indicated. Over five seconds and the system quits trying. (red/failed) This is not proof that the server is off-line, just that it is so slow to respond that it is likely off-line or severly overloaded, and our system must move on to process other records. If your host reports multiple instances of lag or failure, there is a good chance your images are not being shown to all bidders.
Results may vary between different monitoring locations. This is the nature of interconnected networks across long distances and is unavoidable. If your image host shows an unbroken blue line with no indicators in the yellow or red area, you can be confident the server that hosts your images is up and running at top speed. In the server is performing well, any broken images in your auctions are most likely due to other factors.
